Swedish Imams Crave for Govt. Support

Scandinavian imams are "helping the process of integration" in various ways. Notice they need imams in prison because there are many Muslims in jail, just like in France:

Swedish Imams Crave for Govt. Support

Swedish imams have went public with calls for the government to teat them on equal footing with priests in terms of financial assistance and salaries. The demand highlights the miserable living conditions Muslim preachers suffer, forcing them to take up jobs unsuitable for their religious status, to say the least. "The government should allocate salaries to imams, as it does with priests," Ammar Abdous, chairman of the imams' committee in northern Sweden, told IslamOnline.net. "The government should realize that imams play a major role in helping the process of integration, solving family problems for the Muslim minority and guiding the youth to steer clear of drugs and crime," he stressed. Abdous added that imams are also assigned to visit jails and detention camps to attend to the spiritual needs of Muslim prisoners. "Thus, the imams should not be forced to seek other jobs to financially support themselves because is a waste of their time and effort." Sweden has a 350,000-strong Muslim minority, many of them are Iraqi and Iranian Kurds asylum-seekers.

Can someone from Sweden explain to me why Sweden pays the salaries of priests, much less imans? That certainly gives those Islamic parasites a good argument for getting money from the government. Of course their argument that it will help integration is a crock!

Actually the Swedish church is no longer the church of the state as in other countries, say Greece where I live. The members of the church, anyone who declares him/herself a Lutherian Christian, pays a membership fee in order to cover for the church's expenses. I similar system should be implemented for the muslims in Sweden.
It seems though that petrodollars from the Gulf are just not enough, or more likely the imams are counting on the outrageous naivety of the Swedish people and government.
